While I think the far-right has greatly exaggerated the level of violence and destruction perpetrated by the group known as antifa, even those on the far-left can't deny there has been some violence and destruction perpetrated by them, and no matter how much we want to "punch a Nazi," we can't stoop to their level in doing that. Yes, many far-right websites have spread false information about antifa, even going so far as to photoshop violent acts from foreign nations, claiming they were the work of the far-left group. However, in saying that, even reputable sources such as the Washington Post have reported attacks by antifa on marchers with whom they disagree, and we can't have that. Anger begets anger. Hate begets hate. Violence begets violence. If we truly want to show the world we disapprove of white nationalism and the anger, hate, and violence its members project, we must do so by, instead of following their lead in attitude and behavior, going the opposite route, and leading with peace, love, and inclusion. While it may temporarily feel good to punch a Nazi, this will only add to their anger, hate, and violent tendencies, and with that, hinder our cause in the long run. In order to rise above, we must drown out hate with love.
My first book review of "Penetrating the Heart of Life: Ambiguous In Thought, Ambivalent In Feeling"
Well, I received my first book review on this poetry-compilation book I completed and published late last year, but have finally gotten around to marketing now. The reviewer gave it 5 out of 5 stars and said: "I enjoyed the poetic journey the writer has taken me on. From darkest days and hopeful optimism to the conclusion of hope realized. The visual images that the poem titled "Room Temperature" elicits, made me think of the song, "Horse With No Name" sung by the band America. In a similar manner, another poem – "Deafening Sigh-lence" reminded me a great deal of Simon & Garfunkel’s song, "The Sound of Silence". There are so many poems in this book that I related to, that I felt a connection to the author and felt that we were traveling on this journey together." http://www.lulu.com/shop/craig-rozniecki/penetrating-the-heart-of-life-ambiguous-in-thought-ambivalent-in-feeling/paperback/product-18677501.html
