While I'm not a fan of hyperboles, the World Series this year was incredible! Not only was the series incredible, the deciding game - Game 7 - may have been the best such game I've ever seen in the sport. It featured everything: Comebacks, coaching mistakes, rain delays, clutch homers, soon-to-be retirees making critical plays, exhausted pitchers attempting to give more than their capacity, unheard of players making a difference, and a team winning their first championship in 108 years. I'd like to tip my hat to all the players and coaches involved in this year's World Series. To Joe Maddon, Terry Francona, and the rest of the Chicago Cubs and Cleveland Indians, thanks for a classic series. Sporting such young and talented teams, I'm sure we'll be seeing more of this in the future. Best of luck in the offseason and next season, and thanks again. Cubs and Indians fans all over should feel proud.

As long-time readers should know by now, I love sports. Unfortunately, with how crazy election season has been, I haven't had much time to write about the world of sports in recent months. So I thought I'd touch on the subject with a few comments and observations: - Congratulations to the Chicago Cubs and the Cleveland Indians on reaching the World Series. It's honestly hard for me to choose the side, for as I was growing up, both "Major League" (Cleveland Indians) and "Rookie of the Year" (Chicago Cubs) were showing in theaters. In the end, I think I'm leaning toward the Cubs, but if Willie Mays Hayes and Pedro Cerrano suit up for Cleveland, I may have to pull for the Indians. - People need to calm down about the Golden State Warriors' opening night dud against the San Antonio Spurs. The World Series between the San Francisco Giants and the Kansas City Royals is officially underway. In light of this, apparently two San Francisco radio stations (KFOG Radio and 96.5 KOIT) have decided to ban Lorde's "Royals" song until the World Series is over. Personally, I think this is kind of a silly move, but, eh, whatever. Well, based on this story, here's a list of what the city of San Francisco would likely do if the Giants faced one of the other fourteen American League teams. Baltimore Orioles - Oreos will not be sold because they sound too much like Orioles. Boston Red Sox - Anyone wearing a red stocking on their head will be banned, including Santa Claus. Chicago White Sox - No one will be allowed to wear socks. If they wear socks with flip-flops, they'll be permanently barred from the city. The All-Star Game in baseball will be played before long. Typically in any major sport, these games and events are just for the fans, but not in baseball anymore. The winner of this game will decide which league's team will have home-field advantage in the World Series. Is it just me (don't answer that), but is this one of the dumbest ideas that Bud Selig has laid down? I know that this isn't the first year where this has taken place, but I've been blogging for less than a year, so it's the first time in my short blogger life for it to have taken place. There's a home run derby, an old-time classics game, along with other festivities that aren't for anything but entertainment for the fans. The All-Star shenanigans in hockey are there for the fans. The Pro Bowl in football is there for the players to go to Hawaii and for entertaining the fans. Notice the trend here? It's a game made for fun!
