One has to love how many polls are coming out with regard to the 2012 Presidential Election. Within a 3-day span last week, we were showcased two polls which revealed just how pointless they are at this stage in the election season. Conservative-leaning Rasmussen released polls which showed Obama at -10 in approval rating (44% approve, 54% disapprove) and had him trailing Mitt Romney by 5 points. Just a couple days later, Bloomberg released a poll which showed Obama at +9 (53% approve, 44% disapprove) with Obama ahead of Romney by 13 points (53-40). So, what can we make of that? In my opinion, absolutely nothing. The two candidates haven't even debated yet. Let's calm down with laying claim that there is any significance in these polls until the two actually duke it out once or twice via debates. While the Republican Primary seemed never-ending on certain levels, we still have over 4 months to go until election day and what a fun 4 months that will be on cable "news"...
I am unashamed to admit that I'm a nerd. My idea of a good time is playing a word game like Boggle or Scrabble. Thankfully, I (and many others) can play such games via Facebook and/or my (our) cell phone(s). While it seems that cheating has become more commonplace in these games (Words With Friends in particular) than San Diego has had nice weather, I've yet to give in to that craze. One element present with the game Scramble With Friends (Boggle) not present in Words With Friends (Scrabble) are legal boosts called "power-ups," which cost a number of tokens from the 15 available. I've now tried all five power-ups, including the latest one which costs money.
