Another day has passed and another crazy quote from Michele Bachmann has been uttered. When speaking to online conspiracy giant WorldNetDaily about immigration reform, Bachmann said that Republicans "could actually lose the gavel in 2014" if the bill passed. This would happen by way of President Obama waving "his magic wand before 2014" and saying "now all of the new, legal Americans are going to have voting rights."
She continued by saying this:
"I'm not crying wolf here. This is working for the president. It's not working for the American people, but hey, it's great by him. He has a perpetual magic wand and nobody's given him a spanking yet and taken it out of his hand. That's what Congress needs to do -- give the president a major wake-up call. And the way we spank the president is we do it through the checkbook. We're the ones who say, "No, you can't have the money.' What's wrong with us?"
Bachmann is crying more than wolf. She's crying Glenn Beck (meaning crazy). I guess she feels that it was Obama's magic wand which allowed 300,000 undocumented young people to vote in the 2012 election. The problem with that is the fact that while the president granted these DREAMers reprieve from deportation concerns and allowed them to legally work in this country, go to school, and obtain a driver's license, it did not grant them the right to vote.
On that note, here is some more crazy motherly advice from Ms. Bachmann that she'll likely spout at some point in the next 3.5 years:
- "What we need to do is send Obama to his room for not being born in this country!"
- "What we need to do is put Obama in a corner for all those wars he engaged us in before 2009!"
- "What we need to give Obama is a timeout for passing the Patriot Act, which stripped us of our civil liberties!"
- "What we need to do is hit Obama with a belt for being a Muslim!"
- "What we need to do is..." stop talking crazy...
