My new book(s) is (are) now available for purchase!

I just completed and published my 3rd and 4th manuscripts and they became available to purchase last night. For the time being, they're only available on one site, but that will expand to several others before too long and hopefully, if I'm able to work my magic, I'll be able to get them into some book stores.

There are two versions of the same book, a censored and uncensored version. The reason I did this was for family, religious friends and others whom may be offended by certain words and/or topics.

Honestly, there aren't too many such words or topics in the uncensored version. Out of 75,755 words, 43 would be considered vulgar. Out of 100+ topics which are tackled, 5 I could see potentially offending some people.

The books are collections of humorous writings of mine. If you're a regular reader of my blog, I'm sure you've read some of these musings. I poke fun at: Twitter, politicians (Sarah Palin, Anthony Weiner, John Boehner, etc.), commercials (Cialis, Kay Jewelry, the shake weight, etc.), religion, meteorologists, celebrities (Tom Cruise, Britney Spears, etc.), language, athletes, tell crazy dating stories from my past, make up infomercials, provide over-the-top pick-up lines, etc.

For the time being, both books are only available at http://www.lulu.com, but will be available elsewhere before too terribly long. I discounted both books at 20% off, this includes the paperback and downloadable versions of both. Also, if you're uncertain if you want to purchase a copy, but are curious on the material, just click on one of the links below and check out the book preview. That will provide a glance at my craziness:

If you happen to be interested in my other two books, I rounded up all of the cheapest prices for them and they can be found at the below links. Like with the other two books, if you're uncertain if you want to purchase them and need some help in deciding, feel free to go to the lulu.com page and preview the books. Seasons Come, People Grow: A Poetic Journey is a collection of poetry I wrote and released in 2006. It was well regarded by several people, including a couple of professional authors. In response to it, I had a newspaper article written about it and the author (which would be me) and was invited to do a book signing for a library's 10-year anniversary celebration and that went very well also.

My second book, The Serious Scale of Sarcasm: More Balanced Than a Drunken High-Heeled Clown On a Tight Rope was released in 2007 and overall, is fairly similar to my two most recent books, The Kind-Hearted Smartass and The Kind-Hearted Smart Aleck. The main difference is the fact The Serious Scale of Sarcasm contains a balance of humorous and serious material. I received positive responses to this book as well, although not quite as positive as the before-mentioned Seasons Come, People Grow. Below are links to the cheapest prices for this book. As I've mentioned before, you're welcome to preview the book at lulu.com. For all of these books, I've discounted them at 20% off at the lulu.com site.

Those are my four completed and published works. I have two more finished manuscripts (non-fiction), but am going to take my time in trying to catch the interest of an agent for representation on those two. I've also started writing a satire, am on page 30, but have temporarily placed that on hold so that I can focus my attention on my completed works first.

To be perfectly honest, I'd rank the books in this order, from best to worst:

1) The Kind-Hearted Smartass

2) (tie) The Kind-Hearted Smart Aleck

2) (tie) Seasons Come, People Grow: A Poetic Journey

4) The Serious Scale of Sarcasm: More Balanced Than a High-Heeled Clown On a Tight Rope

If I had to choose two, I would go with The Kind-Hearted Smartass / The Kind-Hearted Smart Aleck and Seasons Come, People Grow: A Poetic Journey. If you enjoy both of those and want to read more, than I'd check out The Serious Scale of Sarcasm: More Balanced Than a Drunken High-Heeled Clown On a Tight Rope. If you're feeling really crazy and want to read the censored and uncensored versions of my two recent books, I won't stop you, but in all honesty, I wouldn't recommend it either, unless you liked the uncensored version and want to buy the censored for someone you know or vice versa, if you liked the censored version and know someone whom would likely enjoy the uncensored.

Well, that's it for now. I hope you enjoy the book(s). I welcome all feedback...that is positive. Feel free to post reviews on different sites, whether it be lulu.com, Amazon.com or other sites on which the books are/will be available to purchase...so long as they're positive. If you have any questions, feel free to shoot me an e-mail at: TheTaoOfRoz@aol.com or CRozniecki@gmail.com.

Boycotting jukeboxes because of TouchTunes

I love music and enjoy hitting the bar(s) over the weekend, so naturally, when the mood strikes me, I've never been coy about playing some songs on the jukebox. This past Thursday, a friend of mine turned 50, so several friends of her's, including myself, all met up to celebrate the occasion. At around 9:30, a friend of mine and I both chipped in $5 to play some songs on the jukebox. Four hours and 231 skips later, we gave up on hearing the songs we had selected, and went home knowing we had just wasted $5. This wasn't the first time such a thing had happened to me (and many others), and due to that, I'll be boycotting jukeboxes. Why? The scam known as TouchTunes. You see, here's how the plot typically breaks down. A person (or group of people) downloads the TouchTunes app on his/her phone, consumes one too many adult beverages, and due to this, has less care for spending extra money to hear the songs of their choosing right NOW. That's the thing with TouchTun...

A closer look at the Scramble With Friends power-ups

I am unashamed to admit that I'm a nerd. My idea of a good time is playing a word game like Boggle or Scrabble. Thankfully, I (and many others) can play such games via Facebook and/or my (our) cell phone(s). While it seems that cheating has become more commonplace in these games (Words With Friends in particular) than San Diego has had nice weather, I've yet to give in to that craze. One element present with the game Scramble With Friends (Boggle) not present in Words With Friends (Scrabble) are legal boosts called "power-ups," which cost a number of tokens from the 15 available. I've now tried all five power-ups, including the latest one which costs money. So, in case anyone's curious about playing the game or giving these power-ups a gander, here's a rundown of them all: Freeze - I think this is probably my favorite of all the power-ups. With the freeze, time stands still for a matter of seconds, which allows you more time to find words and improve...

Face guarding is legal in college football and the NFL

I just wanted to remind fans and announcers especially, that face guarding is legal in both college football and the NFL. It all comes down to contact. So long as a defender doesn't make contact with an intended receiver, he doesn't have to turn around to play the ball. I can't tell you how many times every week I hear announcers talk about face guarding being a penalty. It's not. I even heard one announcer yesterday state, "If the defender doesn't turn around and play the ball, the ref will call pass interference every time." That's simply not true. Courtesy of referee Bill LeMonnier, he says this with regard to the rule at the college level (answered on 8/12/13): "NCAA rules on pass interference require the face guarding to have contact to be a foul. No contact, no foul by NCAA rules." In the NFL rule book, this is written:  "Actions that constitute defensive pass interference include but are not limited to: (a) Contact by a ...
